Canadian born, Jamaican raised Nova Rockafeller is always looking for her next adventure. Raised in both Edmonton and Negril, Nova's musical journey has taken her throughout the entire world, with stops in Germany, Sweden and all over Canada to "pay her dues." In 2011, she independently released "Insufficient Funds," an album of songs she wrote, co-produced, performed and even packaged herself. Nova's newest path has led her to sign to a partnership between Multi-Platinum songwriter Evan "Kidd" Bogart's Boardwalk Records and the legendary Mercury/Island Records. With her new record, the self-described "Fergie on Def Jux, Gwen on Rawkus" is successfully mixing her decade long journey through the annals of underground hip-hop with the 90's alt-rock and pop that she grew up loving. Nova's wide array of musical influences (from Busta Rhymes to Weezer) make for a sound that is both fresh and distinctly "Nova." She is currently in the studio working on her major label debut, with the guidance of co-executive producers Bogart and She Wants Revenge frontman, Justin Warfield. Keep an eye out for her debut album slated for a 2014 release.
